Are you ready for an adventure? The 18-month METRO Potentials Programme kicks off in September 2025, and it’s packed with opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
Here’s what awaits you:
- METRO Store Assignment: Roll up your sleeves and step onto the sales floor. Interact with customers, understand our business from the ground up, and forge connections with fellow employees.
- METRO Head Office Experience: Dive into the heart of our operations at the Metro Head Office in İstanbul. Gain practical insights, collaborate across units, and build essential cross-functional skills.
- Global Exposure: Pack your bags! The third phase takes you to the Head Office of another METRO entity abroad. Immerse yourself in a new environment for 6 months, broadening your horizons.
- Project Ownership: Each phase comes with a project. Your contributions will shape our business and fuel your personal and professional growth.
- Customize Your Path: Work closely with your mentor to tailor your journey. Choose the content and duration of assignments that align with your aspirations.
- International Community: Join a vibrant group of trainees from diverse METRO countries and entities. Collaborate, learn, and expand your network.
- Training Weeks and Mentorship: Engage in international training weeks and receive guidance from seasoned leaders.

- Education: Master’s degree holder in business, trade, or a comparable field.
- Experience: Up to 3 years of experience, for example in the gastronomy or retail sector.
- Language Skills: Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Commercial Acumen: Ready to dive into hands-on work in commercial functions.
- Leadership: A humble, natural leader who values diversity and thrives as part of a team.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Global Mindset: Willingness to work abroad for 4 months on an international assignment.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

METRO's Head Office follows a hybrid working model! We work remotely on Fridays, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere. Plus, each year, you can choose two additional weeks to work remotely on your own terms!
