Packaging Engineer

• Develop packaging designs that align with branding and marketing strategies and its specifications in cooperation with suppliers and the Own Brand cross functional team
• Research and select suitable materials for packaging, considering product requirements and sustainability goals
• Executes product initiatives, packaging design and performance enhancements, cost-improvement efforts, and promotional activities
• Optimization of existing packaging to serve professional customer needs and end to end supply chain
• Research industry practices and recommends new and innovative logistic and packaging procedures/methods, depending on the manufacturing processes, product offerings, and business needs
• Collaborate with suppliers to source packaging materials and components.
• Work closely with related departments to ensure packaging aligns with product specifications and brand messaging
• Administration of packaging data in specification data management platform
• Collaborate with international packaging team

• Bachelor's or master's degree in related field of Engineering
• 2+ years experience in packaging design and development
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Strong knowledge of industry standards for packaging design and development.
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Proficiency in packaging design tools and software preferred
• Stay up-to-date with changes in packaging regulations
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills
• Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams

METRO's Head Office follows a hybrid working model! We work remotely on Fridays, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere. Plus, each year, you can choose two additional weeks to work remotely on your own terms!
