- Determine the products needed by customers to achieve the company's numerical targets, considering quality assurance standards, market and competitive conditions. Prepare them for sale and ensure the relevance of the product portfolio by reviewing it at regular intervals.
- Constantly monitor the market and negotiate price adjustments with suppliers in line with market requirements to achieve the numerical targets of the responsible department.
- Track numerical data on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis to achieve departmental goals. Take necessary actions with the category management team and implement them when needed.
- Participate in any cost reduction activities aimed at increasing company profitability.
- Collaborate with the category team to share, develop, and implement new product projects, aiming to boost sales and ensure optimal customer satisfaction across both stores and headquarters.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve results parallel to the numerical targets previously determined for the annual advertising activity plan. Offer special prices or promotions on designated products for specified periods.
- Conduct research in international markets to diversify product offerings, enhance competitiveness, and find and develop products.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- At least 8 years of category management or procurement experience, preferably in retail industry
- Fluent in English – considerable time will be spent to deal with our colleagues in METRO Global Team & Board of Directors
- In-depth understanding of leading procurement practices (category management, etc.)
- Effective negotiation skills
- Experienced in team management
- Strong analytical, problem solving skills and decision-making abilities
- Good command of MS Office applications, advanced level of Excel
- Demonstrated ability to motivate others and build strong relationships
- Ability to deal with focus & pressure from different stakeholders
- Deep understanding of market trends and consumer behavior
