ACTIVITIES WITHOUT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY IN THE WHOLESALE MARKET

Whether bar, bakery, or ball sports club: In our METRO and METRO Gastro wholesale stores, we offer commercial and institutional customers a high-quality assortment. Tailor-made services underline our customer orientation. As a sales employee, you will be a competent, friendly partner for our discerning customers in all matters.

Sales assistant

As a sales assistant in our wholesale stores, you are a professional for our assortment and support our customers during their shopping. You are responsible for the attractive presentation of the goods and always have an eye on the availability of goods. Depending on your area of work, you will advise and inspire our customers about the range of products and be available to answer any questions or requests they may have. If you have experience in sales or special knowledge of a product group (e.g. through training as a butcher), enjoy communicating with our customers from the gastronomy sector and are looking for a new job, then we have numerous opportunities for you!

Cashier

At the checkout, you are the personal contact for our customers to complete their shopping. You will be responsible for scanning and cashing up the purchases and carefully balancing your till at the end of the working day. Your friendly personality will ensure that all customers leave the wholesale market with a smile on their faces. Even without work experience at the checkout, we look forward to receiving your application if you enjoy direct customer contact and have a high level of customer and service orientation.

Customer Service

At the customer entrance you are the first contact for our customers when they visit our wholesale market. You create new customer cards, process credit notes and assist our customers with any questions they may have. You will also be responsible for dealing with complaints. Ideally, you have training or work experience in retail or a comparable occupation. If you also have a high level of customer and service orientation and can keep a cool head even in hectic times, look at the vacancies!

Picking in warehouse

As an order picker, you and your colleagues assemble the products for our customers' orders in the delivery departments of our wholesale markets. You prepare the orders for transport and hand them over to your colleagues, who take them to the customers by truck, in compliance with the legal requirements. Even if you don't have any work experience in a warehouse or in order picking, we look forward to receiving your application, because you can also get your forklift licence with us. If our customers can rely on a flawless delivery due to your reliable way of working, we look forward to receiving your application!

Stocking

As a member of staff in the stocking department, you are responsible for ensuring that the shelves in the wholesale store are filled for our customers and that our extensive range of goods is available for purchase. You put our goods away, ensure an attractive presentation of the goods and always keep an eye on the cleanliness and order in the department. Even if you don't have any experience in this area, you can always apply to us for open positions in merchandise clearance. We are sure to have the right job for you!

Goods receiving department

In the goods receiving department, you use your organisational skills to ensure the correct stock of goods and the quality of the articles delivered to our wholesale stores. You carry out incoming goods inspections, check the delivery notes and make the goods available to your colleagues in the sales departments. Ideally, you have training or work experience in retail, logistics or a comparable occupation. But you can also join us without this experience if you have a careful way of working and team spirit.

Management Operations Manager Head of Department Deputy head of department

Management

As a shop manager, you will lead "your" METRO or METRO Gastro store as a manager with a high level of responsibility and, together with your team, ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers. You are responsible for the business success of the location and the implementation and success control of the marketing measures on site. Of course, you are also responsible for motivating and developing your staff. You are also the direct contact person for the most important customers at your location and, together with your colleagues in sales and delivery, form a powerful team.

If you would like to take on responsibility for a METRO or METRO Gastro location, have experience in management from a comparable position and have an understanding of the needs of our customers in the food service industry, then you have come to the right place!

Operations Manager

As an operations manager, you report directly to the management of a METRO wholesale store and are responsible for several departments of a location. Together with the management and your teams in the departments, you are responsible for the day-to-day business: you ensure that the customers in the wholesale store can complete their shopping in a positive manner in every respect. You ensure the implementation of marketing measures and an appealing presentation of goods in your area of responsibility and, of course, you are also responsible for the leadership and further development of your employees.

Head of Department

As a department manager, you ensure the smooth running of all processes within your department. You are the contact person for our customers in the catering industry and responsible for managing your team. You will manage your department independently, plan staff deployment and support your team in their personal and professional development.

Depending on your focus, you will be responsible for a product area (e.g. fruit & vegetables department), the checkout processes or internal logistics (goods receipt or delivery).

Deputy head of department

As a deputy head of department or substitute head of department, you ensure the smooth running of all processes within your department when the head of department is not on site. You are the contact person for our customers from the catering industry and responsible for managing the team..

You will manage the department together with the department head, plan staff deployment and support the team in their personal and professional development. Depending on your focus, you will be responsible for a product area (e.g. fruit & vegetables department), the checkout processes or internal logistics (goods receiving or delivery).
